Glen Doucet, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER CANADIAN PHARMACISTS ASSOCIATION


Christine Hrudka, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA), is pleased to announce the appointment of Glen Doucet as the Association’s next CEO.

Glen has been interim CEO since December 2017 and was the Association’s Vice-President Public & Professional Affairs since 2014. He has more than 26 years’ expertise in health care association leadership, government relations and strategic communications in which he has earned a reputation as an innovative strategist, transformational leader, relationship builder and persuasive communicator.

Glen has served as the executive director of two national associations and on the senior management team for two other major national health nongovernmental organizations. In these positions, he led diverse teams of professionals to effectively represent these associations with government, industry, media and the public.

A public and professional affairs expert, Glen’s areas of expertise include issues management, policy development, strategic communications and governmental regulatory processes.

He currently serves as the vice-chair of Hypertension Canada’s Board of Directors as well as a member of the Board of the Directors for the Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation. In addition, he has served as the national director and director of policy for a major federal political party. Through his work in politics and his professional life Glen has built an extensive network of government, political and business contacts across the country.

The Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) is the uniting national voice of pharmacy and the pharmacist profession in Canada. As pharmacists undertake an enhanced role in the delivery of health care services, CPhA ensures that the profession is recognized as a national leader in health care, influencing the policies, programs, budgets and initiatives affecting the profession and the health of Canadians.
