Writer/Editor, Parliament Now

The Hill Times is seeking an editor/writer to join its staff. The ideal candidate is someone who is well organized, has clean and concise writing skills and most importantly a passion for all things politics. Previous editing and writing experience is a must, either journalistic or academic.

The position is as editor of Parliament Now which is a daily, online, political tracking service dedicated to bringing subscribers the most up-to-date information about the daily proceedings of the federal government, the House of Commons and Senate. You also compile, edit and update two annual publications. Inside Ottawa and Inside Canada.

Responsibilities

This full-time position would see you compiling, writing and editing the publication on a daily basis, often independently. This includes posting all material online, as well as generating and sending out our Daily, Weekly, and Comprehensive reports. You will be required to self-edit while maintaining accuracy and consistency of style.

Qualifications

Previous editing and writing experience is a must.

 

This is a full-time one-year Maternity-leave contract that includes benefits.

Start Date: May 2019

Salary Range: $32,000-$36,000

 

Parliament Now is a subscriber service used by Canada’s premier associations, corporations, news agencies and government offices to track legislation, government news and information. Parliament Now is owed by The Hill Times.
