Bruce R. Burrows, the President of the Chamber of Marine Commerce, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Douglas as Senior Director of Government and Stakeholder Relations.

Ms. Douglas was most recently Director, Government Affairs for Innovative Medicines Canada (formerly Rx&D), breaking down complex regulatory, international trade and intellectual property law concerns into easy to understand language to develop advocacy campaigns, as well as managing stakeholder and elected official meetings.

Previously, she has worked in a number of legislative, research and communication roles on Parliament Hill and with federal Members of Parliament. Ms. Douglas holds a Master of Political Management Degree from Carleton University, Canada’s leading program in political studies.

The Chamber of Marine Commerce is a bi-national association that represents more than 130 marine industry stakeholders including major Canadian and American shippers, ship owners, ports, terminals and marine service providers. The Chamber advocates for safe, sustainable, harmonized and competitive policy and regulation that recognizes the marine transportation system’s significant advantages in the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence, Coastal and Arctic regions.
