The Ottawa International Airport Authority (the “Authority”) manages, operates, maintains, and invests in the Ottawa International Airport (YOW) under a long-term lease with the federal government. In its mission to be a leader in providing quality, safe, secure, sustainable, and affordable air transportation services to the airport’s customers and communities, the Authority has received numerous operational, customer service, communications, and business development awards. It serves as a key driver of economic growth by generating approximately one-quarter of a billion dollars in taxes for the three levels of government and a direct economic impact on Canada’s Capital Region of $1.1 billion annually.
As the Authority continues along its journey of transformation and growth, it is seeking to fill the newly created position of Director, Stakeholder Engagement.
Reporting to the Vice-President, Business Development & Marketing, the Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the Authority is well-positioned in its interactions with a diverse range of stakeholders including industry, government, and other community stakeholders. In doing so, the Director proactively manages the Airport Authority’s interests while promoting its vision and mandate.
As the ideal candidate you have deep experience in matching stakeholder engagement with business outcomes. An outstanding communicator and excellent leader, you engender confidence, credibility, and trust. You have a demonstrable track record of success in building effective relationships across a diverse constituency of stakeholders, both internal and external. The Authority will benefit from your exceptional strategy development expertise and your ability to find creative solutions that improve products and services aligned with short-term and long-term corporate priorities. You are a team player and partner, adept at defining needs toward the successful development and implementation of initiatives that inform operational, business, and other strategic decisions. You are highly flexible and adaptable, skilled at navigating through multiple priorities to accommodate the rapidly changing environment. You are highly respected for your forward thinking, poise, political acuity, and negotiation skill. You maintain the highest levels of honesty, integrity, and discretion in all your work. Bilingualism in English and French is required.
