The University of Ottawa has more than 8,000 employees and approximately 42,000 students are enrolled in undergraduate graduate and postgraduate programs at one of its 10 faculties. As Vice-President, Finance and Administration, you will manage the finances for all University operations. This major role in a complex, fast-growing and transformational academic environment calls for a long-term vision and strategic initiative. Your responsibilities will include management of financial and human resources; information technology, facilities and property management; health and safety; the environment; protection, sports and parking services; and risk management. Your success will be contingent on the following essential qualities: your well-known leadership skills, and your ability to direct major projects and to motivate and inspire various employee groups – two traits that rank among the hallmarks of your career path. You are also able to develop and implement innovative strategic plans, and introduce an institutional culture centred on best practices. Finally, you are thoroughly familiar with the organizational structure of universities or of other complex institutions, you excel at interpersonal relationships and you are comfortable communicating in both English and French.
