There are many who have struggled with false sense of love and relationships. Some of us learn about these things only from the examples we've seen in our own families. This is exactly what a sweet young girl from the suburbs of South Orange, New Jersey dealt with as she navigated through toxic examples and heart break at a young age.Perfectly Flawed is the story of Candi Abrams, who struggles with loving and trusting others and her own decision-making, as she grows into womanhood. As she recollects her childhood memories, Candi describes her life as a seemingly perfect picture to the outside world, growing up in a middle-class family with loving parents. Yet, as she continues to share her memories, we see how past mistakes cause her parents to try and control all of Candi’s decisions in an unhealthy manner. The contradiction between what her parents want for her and what they actually show her causes conflict and confusion in Candi’s world. Consequently, Candi’s love language is shaped by the violence and verbal abuse of almost every couple she encounters within the first twenty years of her life.
